回顧「水作坊」的體驗及延伸對談
Somewhere on the scale
Some parents believe the best way to educate their children is to design an impeccable timetable for them. Children go to the best school in town, learn five languages as soon as they can speak, participate in a variety of activities, and attain a “substantial” portfolio before entering primary school. Some parents refute the idea entirely and mesmerize by freedom and good nature. They trust their children to make good decisions, and they are allowed to eat cookies as dinner, not finish schoolwork, and if their hearts desire, a TV can be their best friend.

It seems apparent that the extreme opinions are silly, yet it is quite a trend and pressure for some parents to stand on either side. Isn’t it more sensible to find a point in between depends on the situation?
We learned to find connections, listened to our inner hearts through improvisation. We saw a free-spirited master merging his solid skills with endless imagination. We floated. We played with logic. We sweated. We witnessed life and death.
Hearts, souls, brains, bodies, senses, thoughts, feelings, perspectives …
All fallen somewhere along the plank.
There is:
time to be fast
time to be slow
time to get lost in time
time to acquire facts and knowledge
time to explore
time to trust yourself
time to doubt yourself
time to nurture
time to rest
time to be technical
time to forget all the skills
time to remember your skills
time to reunite many of your skills
time to think twice
time to not overthink
time to be angry
time to let it be
time to listen
time to not listen
time to play
time to laugh
time to be heavy
time to be light
Is balance static or moving?
